The Secret to Baking the World’s Greatest Chocolate Chip Cookies
Mar 29th, 2009 by admin
What? That’s what you’re thinking right now. I can almost see the look on your face. Why is Babeofbusiness.com – a blog about small business and entrepreneurship – writing about chocolate chip cookies? Shouldn’t you really be asking yourself, why would Babeofbusiness give away her secret recipe? This is the question all entrepreneurs should ask themselves before divulging information on their business processes, proprietary methods, intellectual property or anything else that can be perceived as ultra-sensitive, “secret” information. Perusing around the Web, whether on LinkedIn, Facebook, reading through blog comments and so on, I often see entrepreneurs casually giving away information that they should NEVER disclose on the public info highway. And I don’t get it. Why? Why would you post the recipe – the secret blueprint – for baking the world’s greatest chocolate chip cookies for all of the world to see and freely replicate as they wish? Why? Full business plans uploaded to doc sharing sites… Pro formas scattered about freelance marketplaces… Diagrams that have not yet been granted patents plastered across the About Us pages of Web sites… Why? It’s enough to cause this babe of biz to sprout a few gray hairs.
Something to chew on…
