Another Business Idea for 2008
Dec 18th, 2007 by admin
There are a number of trends predicted for 2008. But two stick out like shiny golden eggs:
- Advertising will continue to move online.
- More people will embrace ‘green’ living.
Lying within these expected growth areas is a potential business opportunity. Come up with a way to provide green product and service providers targeted online advertising programs! Help them reach their customers, before someone else does.

Well, the question is… how do you pick the “new” industry so you pick the on that doesn’t fail?? I mean, some people tried to invest heavily into Java and ended up failing! That was a loss of so much money!
Hey Vladamir!
I could literally post a ten-page response to your question (which is a great one, by the way)!
But I’ll try to keep it short here, and follow it up with some new articles that might help you out. Basically, you should never jump on a business opportunity just because you think it is the next big ‘thing’ or perceive a market need for it. You’ve gotta do your homework. This includes keeping up with and tracking trends, the economy and anything else that has a profound effect on consumer habits, lifestyles, changes in the business environment and so on. Read the Wall Street Journal, USA Today and the Globe. Track the markets. Do what you need to do to keep up with what’s going on in the world and where things might be heading.
Once you think you are on to something, do some more research in the form of a market analysis and/or feasibility study. You want to make sure that there is indeed a market need, enough earnings potential to support the concept, who your competitors are and so on. I wrote a post today on feasibility studies and will continue to write on this topic over the next few weeks.
Enjoy!

P.S. One last comment… make sure you have some experience in the business that you are considering starting.
I love the idea of promoting “Green Business” and making some green in the process is exciting. In regard to advertising software available, do you have any suggestions? I have been researching MuVar, and so far it is impressive. What is your opinion?
